About Me

So here’s a little bit about me. I have always been kind of a girly girl, born and raised in Long Island New York by my phenomenal mother and father. One of my very first memories is sneaking into my mother’s huge bathroom and experimenting with her vivid shades of make up (remember this is the late 70’s so glam rock ruled), then racing into her cupboard to swathe myself in purple marabou whilst tottering around in her silver stilettos. I would then appear to my family singing some made up rendition of a Dolly Parton hit!! My magpie mentality is still the same today as I am drawn toward anything fanciful and frilly.

At the age of 13 I went to an all girls boarding school in Middleburg Virginia. My passion and love was horses and show jumping and this is
where I thought I would have my future. I spent four idyllic years there totally focused on riding and showing until I had an unfortunate accident when I was 17 in which I ruined my knee and my chances of the Olympic gold !!!!!!!!
So I moved back to New York and began modeling with the IMG agency and going to acting school, which I loved - all those years in marabou were evidently not wasted!! On a frivolous whim a girlfriend and I came over to London for the weekend and somehow I still haven’t gone back home! I fell in love with the city, culture and most of all the incredible friends I was so lucky to meet. I joined Models One where I found my family away from the States, owners Josie Fonseca and Dick Kreis. During this time I also met my fabulous husband, Lucas White, so then there really was no leaving! Although I do head back over the Atlantic regularly to see my sister and my incredible niece and nephews who I love dearly x

I continued to model and work and soon joined celebrity agency M+M Management to be looked after by the wonderful Martine Montgomery. Martine helped me to express my love of fashion by encouraging me to design a range of shoes and handbags for Debenhams, which I adored doing and was immensely proud of. It was also during this time that I enrolled in a course called the Landmark forum in which the teacher said to me – “find something you really love to do and convince someone to pay you to do it. Therefore it is not work it is play!” I love and adore having
beauty treatments, investigating lotions and potions, trying out make up and indulging in makeovers. Having visited the offices of You magazine (supplement to the Mail on Sunday), its supreme editor - and my mentor extraordinaire - Sue Peart, gave me my dream career. As Beauty Editor at Large for You magazine it is now my job to explore the world of beauty and glamour and to write about it for her publication. The readers and the ‘You’ crew live in my heart every day – I receive so much support and couldn’t ask for a greater team around me x
Still, however, my obsession with bath time ran rampant so I channelled my energies into creating a range of my very own beauty products for Tesco – Recapture and Reinvent luxury bodycare. I have been wearing the same perfume - Annick Goutal Eau D’Hadrien - for 20 years (since I was 13) so I wanted to give the same lemony fresh fragrance to my products, whilst making bath time beautiful and affordable for everyone. Tesco is such an amazing company to work for and I am so blessed to have their support.

My extra curricular activities include the studying of Kabbalah (which really does

change you from being reactive to proactive), creative writing (and one day I will write that book), long walks in the country with my gorgeous Chiuahuas Suge and Lottie, who end up having to be carried, going on retreats, reading any self help book that hit’s the shelves, laughing at myself and loving life!
